This week has been beyond amazing. Thank you Mark J. for our “assignment” to look for and post random acts of kindess that we observe or experience. Also, we were asked to report on an act of kindness that we do for others. The flow of giving and receiving was in full swing with over 200 people in the MKMMA taking up the challenge. What I take away from this experience goes far beyond any other exercise thus far in that it has made me a better person.
It has made me more aware of the good in people and just more aware in general. It has caused me to be calmer, happier, and harmonious with my fellow human beings. It has created a desire to consistently focus on the good things people do rather than the bad, and inspired me to want to be a better, kinder person. All of this goes right back to the Seven Laws of the mind and I’m beginning to see now how this journey IS working in my life.
The MK lesson this week was also the best yet. Teaching us that “wealth” is simply a means to an end, the true value consists not in its utility but in its exchange. Some people spend their entire lives focusing on getting more and more money, and equate money with success. But we know that success is contingent upon a higher ideal than the accumulation of riches.
I loved the Prentice Mulford quote and it bears repeating – “The man of success is the man possessed of the greatest spiritural understanding and every great fortune comes of superior and truly spiritual power.”
If we want to be “rich”, we must be rich in spirit. To think of others before ourselves, to have a vision (DMP) of what we want and what we have to do to get there. And the power to do this depends entirely upon spiritual power in 3 steps according to Haanel: idealization, visualization and materialization. What that means to me is if I have a conception of something perfect and form a mental image of that ideal consistently with my thoughts, it will become my reality. I can see that playing out in my life more and more. But since I now have an understanding of how this all happens I am moving more quickly. I am applying the Keys in my everyday life. I am eliminating negative thoughts because I understand why they are destructive and bring discord and inharmony.
The power of visualization is key….and that is why “the sit” is so important, giving us the opportunity to focus 100% on what we want, and how we can plan to get there. I use to be in huge hurry and expect immediate results, but with age comes patience. I’m content working on my goals and dreams one day at a time, I know with consistent and continuous action the results will come. In the meantime, I am just happy that this journey has given me more insight and inspiration to grow in faith, love and knowledge.
