WEEK 17 – I GIVE MYSELF PERMISSION

It often amazes me how much I really don’t know.  How did I live all these decades and not fully understand how our lives are a product of our thoughts, actions and desires.  The veil of confusion and misunderstanding is being lifted.  I can see clearly now that we have the power, through the Universal Mind, to create the life we want. And it is exciting. I have given myself permission to access the power, to be happy and in the flow of giving and receiving.

Never focus on the effects, or the “result”s of work; material “things” may offer fleeting happiness, but do not make us truly happy. As Haanel states in lesson 17, “Premature wealth or position cannot be retained because it has not been earned; we get only what we give. Focus and be grateful for our blessings and not what we think we need. We already have everything we need, it is given to us at birth and we are tasked with its development. “Ask and it shall be given to you, seek and you will find, knock and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds and to him that knocks, it will be opened” I AM NATURE’S GREATEST MIRACLE!

WEEK 16 – AN AMAZING EXPERIMENT IN KINDNESS

Helping-Hands

This week has been beyond amazing. Thank you Mark J. for our “assignment” to look for and post random acts of kindess that we observe or experience. Also, we were asked to report on an act of kindness that we do for others. The flow of giving and receiving was in full swing with over 200 people in the MKMMA taking up the challenge. What I take away from this experience goes far beyond any other exercise thus far in that it has made me a better person.

It has made me more aware of the good in people and just more aware in general. It has caused me to be calmer, happier, and harmonious with my fellow human beings. It has created a desire to consistently focus on the good things people do rather than the bad, and inspired me to want to be a better, kinder person. All of this goes right back to the Seven Laws of the mind and I’m beginning to see now how this journey IS working in my life.

The MK lesson this week was also the best yet. Teaching us that “wealth” is simply a means to an end, the true value consists not in its utility but in its exchange. Some people spend their entire lives focusing on getting more and more money, and equate money with success. But we know that success is contingent upon a higher ideal than the accumulation of riches.

I loved the Prentice Mulford quote and it bears repeating – “The man of success is the man possessed of the greatest spiritural understanding and every great fortune comes of superior and truly spiritual power.”
Mulford

If we want to be “rich”, we must be rich in spirit. To think of others before ourselves, to have a vision (DMP) of what we want and what we have to do to get there. And the power to do this depends entirely upon spiritual power in 3 steps according to Haanel: idealization, visualization and materialization. What that means to me is if I have a conception of something perfect and form a mental image of that ideal consistently with my thoughts, it will become my reality. I can see that playing out in my life more and more. But since I now have an understanding of how this all happens I am moving more quickly. I am applying the Keys in my everyday life. I am eliminating negative thoughts because I understand why they are destructive and bring discord and inharmony.

The power of visualization is key….and that is why “the sit” is so important, giving us the opportunity to focus 100% on what we want, and how we can plan to get there. I use to be in huge hurry and expect immediate results, but with age comes patience. I’m content working on my goals and dreams one day at a time, I know with consistent and continuous action the results will come. In the meantime, I am just happy that this journey has given me more insight and inspiration to grow in faith, love and knowledge.

WEEK 15- VITALITY, PRINCIPAL, INSIGHT… OH MY!

image

Just spent over an hour working on my Week 15 blog and poof, in one split second it was gone. I hit something by mistake and everything was erased. This is a real test of my patience. But I press on with joy in my heart.

I am eager to learn the next lesson, yet I so wish we could linger just a little while longer on week 14. It contains so much life changing information. Every sentence in week 14 could be a discussion item by itself and there were 36 sentences!

The most important takeaways for me were the references to vitality, principal and insight. Those three things stood out the most for me.

Vitality – mental vigor; power to live and grow
Insight – perception; grasp
Principal- first or highest in rank, importance, value

Learning their importance in the thought process has opened up more channels into the search for my “authentic” self. Thoughts containing principal (value) is vital (power to live & grow)

And of course discussion of the vast importance of our WORDS is always worth reviewing. Always use loving words to express your thoughts for if you do it will more readily bring about the manifestation of your true desires based on the Law of Attraction

The many things we’ve been told as children and beyond are starting to create a stronger emotion because I understand the true meaning behind the quotes – ” Seek and ye shall find”, “think before you speak”, “everything happens for a reason”, “we are creatures of habit”, “we reap what we sow”.

Our thoughts and our words are what sets us apart from every other living creature. We are one with the Universal Mind and as such we have the power of right thinking. We have an obligation to open our minds to the infinite. I am beginning to understand that the part of me that I felt was missing wasn’t missing at all. It was lost in the old subby, negative thinking and ignorance. I am beginning to open my mind and my heart to the possibilities that were buried under the cement Buddha all these years. And it feels good!

WEEK 14 – THE CREATIVE POWER OF OUR THOUGHTS

Understanding the principles of the creative power of our thoughts will get results in exact accordance with our ability to make the proper application.  It will open up all possibilities. I am overwhelmed with excitement to know that we can bring about any change  we want in our lives if we understand and apply this power.

Week 14 we were basically “on our own” to absorb this very important lesson. Reading it once a day wasn’t enough… Had to read it a couple times. Then of course, sit and think about what I just read. And even with all that there is still work to be done. But, as Haanel states you cannot expect to see them (negative thoughts) all melt away as the result of fifteen or twenty minutes of right thinking! This removes all the pressure I would normally place on myself.  One day at a time for 14 weeks has produced incredible results. I know that the road to to right thinking is the proverbial “journey”.  It takes labor, time, dedication, desire and devotion.

I know I am making progress. I can see things and understand things that I had never seen before or understood. And the really interesting thing is that for most of my life I considered myself to be a spiritual being and always in touch with a higher power, the Creator, the Universal Mind! But, I still felt something was missing. I couldn’t put my finger on exactly what that “missing” piece was…. Now I understand that what was missing was the understanding and application of our creative thoughts. We are a manifestation of the Universal mind, and the power of our creative thought in one in the same with the Creator. Our reality is just as limitless as our Creator. Know this to be true.

OCTOBER SKY

We were given an assignment over the break to watch one of four movies. I chose “October Sky” because I am a big fan of Jake Gyllenhaal. He plays the lead role in this fact based story about a teenage boy, Homer Hickam.  Homer  grew up in a coal town in West Virginia where a boy’s usual destiny was to “end up in the mines.” But Homer had his eye on the sky and a love for flying rockets… to the dismay of his mine-foreman father. A misfit for sure, he and three of his equally outcast buddies begin making rockets, which they fly from a patch of barren land eight miles out of town… so as to no longer terrorize the community with their oft-times errant rockets. However, the people become intrigued and soon start coming out in droves to watch the ‘Rocketboys’ send off their homemade missiles. with the enthusiastic support of Miss Riley, their teacher, Homer and the three other “Rocket Boys” eventually won  the 1957 National Science Fair and all four boys land scholarships. They all move on beyond Coalwood in West Virginia to become successful in their chosen careers.

What was painfully obvious from his first attempt at setting off a rudimentary rocket in this front yard, Homer didn’t have many supporters in the beginning. He was made fun of, teased, and  shunned. But, Homer was a visionary and a dreamer. He didn’t allow the negative people and circumstances  in his life to dissuade him from following his dream. Once he set his mind on his definite purpose nothing held him back from  achieving his dreams.  He did recruit 3 friends to mastermind with him and together they worked in perfect harmony until they reached their goal of sending a rocket into space. They eventually gathered support from the townspeople, school Principal and even Homer’s father.  Despite dozens of setbacks Homer and the other “a Rocket Boys”  stayed the course and worked through all obstacles with laser focus.

It was clear to me that Homer applied every single one of the four Keys to success. He had a burning desire (DMP), a positive mental attitude despite all the negativity that surrounded him, a plan of action expressed in continuous action and a master mind alliance. There was no doubt that he’d achieve success and he did. Not just one time, but over and over again throughout his life.

I thoroughly enjoyed watching “October Sky” and encourage all of you to watch it too! It was uplifting and inspiring. It solidified my own belief in the principles of the Master Keys and encourages me to continue in my personal quest to  find my bliss!
